District 5300 invites all middle school students to enter the “ART FOR PEACE” contest. op three winners will each receive a monetary scholarship!

Rules of Entry:

• All artwork should be an original individual artwork

• Contest is open to ALL middle school students [grades 6-8].

• Each student may only enter 1 entry

• By entering the contest, all parties agree that Rotary International District 5300 has theright to display, copy, distribute, and otherwise use the artwork as it sees fit without anyfee or other form of compensation. Artwork will be on display at the 17th Annual PeaceConference Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Victor Valley College, Victorville, CA.

Submission Requirements:

• Media Accepted: Colored pencil/pencil, crayon, any type of paint, ink, charcoal (Please
  note: if contestants use charcoal, they should seal it with an adhesive).

• Size limitation: 81/2” x 11”. All artwork must be without mat, frame, cover sheet, or border. Artwork must not exceed 1/8 inch in total thickness.

• Documentation – to be printed on the back of all entries

  • Title of picture

  • Full name of student/artist, grade and age

  • Teacher’s name and school

  • Date submitted in month, day, year format

  • Mailing address, email address, & phone number (this may be contact information for the teacher if applicable).

*** IMPORTANT: No lettering, signatures, or initials may appear on the front of the design.  Any artwork with such identifying characteristics will be disqualified, and eliminated from the competition.

Judging:

• First level judging: Area clubs will judge artwork and select a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner to send to the 17th Annual Peace Conference on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Victor Valley College, Victorville, CA. Winners and artwork from first level judging should be sent to: Deborah Fowler, Art for Peace Contest Committee Chair, 18706 Kamana Road, Apple Valley, CA 92307 no later than March 1, 2012.

• District Level winners will receive $250.00 for 1st Place, $150.00 for 2nd Place, and $100.00 for 3rd Place.
